Consistent with the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts (CFWM) stated mission of increasing equity and opportunity for all, CFWM will not make grants, fully discretionary, designated or donor advised, to organizations that CFWM knows or has reason to believe support or engage in hateful and discriminatory activities. CFWM will implement this policy through due diligence to ensure that hateful and discriminatory activities are identified, documented and steps taken to avoid any CFWM support for them.

Hateful and discriminatory activities are defined to mean activities that incite or engage in violence, intimidation, harassment, threats or defamation targeting an individual or group based on their actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability. These activities are contrary to the CFWM’s mission and its charitable purpose.

This Policy will be reviewed formally at least every two years; however, it may be amended at any time through majority vote of the Trustees of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.

Trustees approved effective January 14, 2022
