ValleyCreates

We are committed to grantmaking and non-monetary support that catalyze positive change throughout Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties.

Our Approach

To fulfill our strategic vision of equity and opportunity for all, we will continue to provide resources broadly to meet wide-ranging and evolving needs. In the current climate, that includes support for communities and nonprofits that have been hard-hit by the social, economic and health crises of 2020.

In addition, we will prioritize support for issues on which we believe we can have significant impact:

  • effective nonprofits led by people of color;
  • a strong start for all children through high-quality early education and care;
  • more accessible and more affordable post-secondary education or training that provide pathways to completion and employment; and/or
  • a vibrant local arts and creativity ecosystem to support self-expression, economic vitality, and connection.

In keeping with our commitment to equity and opportunity for all, we will not knowingly support organizations whose programs, services, employment or volunteer opportunities do not comply with our Anti-Discrimination Policy.

Working Together

As your Community Foundation, we believe strongly in the power of collaboration to solve challenges. As we have since 1991, we continue to ground our decision-making in the direct involvement of community members—who generously give their time, knowledge, passion, and perspective to our work. We also believe that solutions to complex challenges require a strong allied non-profit ecosystem in which not-for-profit organizations actively partner with community groups, institutions of higher education, government entities, and the private sector to innovate and lead.  We’re not only funder, but also a thought-partner, capacity-builder, convener, and strategic partner to our grantees.

Recent Grantees

We are proud to support hundreds of nonprofits throughout the region through our competitive grantmaking programs as well as our donor designated and donor advised funds.
