Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts awards $713,300

SPRINGFIELD – The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts (CFWM) recently awarded

$713,300 to 44 area nonprofits through its Mission Grant program, one of the Foundation’s six competitive grantmaking programs, which were designed to improve and support he quality of life in the communities of Foundation’s commitment improving quality of life for people in Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties.

The grant awards ranged from $2,500-$25,000 and address community needs in the areas of arts and culture, education, the environment, health, housing, and human services for residents of Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties. Over 30 of the projects funded were supported by trusts administered by Bank of America. Total grant awards by county are as follows: Hampden, $462,900; Hampshire, $144,700; Franklin, $105,700.

The next Mission Grant program will open for applications in January 2019.
