Alvilda Sophia Anaya-Alegría: Creatively Navigating COVID-19

Alvilda Sophia Anaya-Alegría, an accomplished educator, painter, writer, and economist, resides in Springfield. COVID-19 cut off her livelihood—and that of many other artists.

She was one of 20 artists who received assistance through the Community Foundation’s ValleyCreates program. A $1,000 mini-grant, one-on-one coaching, and financial and business resiliency webinars focused on helping Alvilda navigate the pandemic and create a business plan to sustain her artistic pursuits post-COVID.

Watch her story.
