Square One Delivers Care and More to Working Families

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts launched the COVID-19 Response Fund in March 2020 to help communities across Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties recover and rebuild in response to the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, extraordinarily generous individuals, businesses, and philanthropic organizations across the region have contributed to the fund, and donations have been turned into grants to local nonprofits providing programs and services to people in need. Watch the video to see how one of those nonprofit grantees, Square One—based in Springfield, Massachusetts—has weathered the pandemic to meet the needs of working families in Springfield and Holyoke.
