Application Requirements
Applications and required material will be accepted each year from early January through March 31. All students are encouraged to apply early. The information you disclose in the application will determine your eligibility for the next academic year only. Students need to reapply each year.
To be eligible for consideration, all applicants must submit a complete package of the following by March 31 to the:

- Community Foundation Application
- An official academic transcript bearing the school seal or an official school signature.
- The transcript must contain one of either of your GPA, class rank, or SAT
scores (math and verbal)
- Your school’s guidance office or college registrar can send an official
transcript directly to us on your behalf. A copy of printout from the internet will not be accepted.
- 2010-2011 Student Aid Report
- As early as possible after January 1st complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This may be completed on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Once the FAFSA has been processed, a Student Aid Report (SAR) should be generated and sent or emailed to you.
- Be sure the SAR lists both the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) before submitting the SAR to the Foundation.
- Save and print the SAR as a PDF document and send via postal mail, fax, or email to the Community Foundation of Western Massachusets.

- Special Requirements for consideration for the MassMutual Scholars – Career Pathway Program
Graduating high school seniors with a strong interest in pursuing a career in business, financial services or information technology can apply for consideration. Selected students may receive up to $5,000 per year for four academic years of undergraduate study. Up to forty scholarships may be awarded each year. Recipients are required to participate in career readiness programs where they’ll take part in seminars and have the opportunity to network with MassMutual professionals. They may also be offered the opportunity to participate in a paid internship.
- Resident of Hampden County, MA or Hartford County, CT.
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better
- Students must attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university in the states of Massachusetts or Connecticut; or Bryant University, Smithfield, RI, or Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY.
- The online Community Foundation Application is required for consideration. Paper or printed PDF applications from our website will not be considered.
- Completion of the questions that are part of the online application regarding career interests.
- What are your career goals in business, financial services, or information technology?
- Why do you want to work in business, financial services, or information technology?
