Community Foundation Welcomes New Staff

New Team Members Fill Key Development and Finance Roles

July 14, 2020—The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts (CFWM) has announced two new staff members to their team, filling key development and finance roles at the organization. Daisy Pereira-Tosado joins CFWM as Director of Philanthropy, and Didi de Almeida has been hired as Accounting Manager.

Pereira-Tosado joins the Community Foundation as Director of Philanthropy, a new role at the organization responsible for bolstering and diversifying the Foundation’s development strategy. Pereira-Tosado brings 25 years of experience in the nonprofit arena. She has led and served in leadership roles for community-based organizations, most recently as the Senior Director of Philanthropy at New England Public Media.

Pereira-Tosado has developed many valuable resources for the local community as an active volunteer for local organizations such as Girls Inc. of Holyoke, Link to Libraries, and the Springfield Puerto Rican Day Parade Committee. She is a graduate of Holyoke High School and Boston University, and is a 21-year resident of Springfield.

Didi de Almeida joins the Foundation’s finance team as the new Accounting Manager. She brings seven years of experience in nonprofit accounting management for local nonprofit organizations, and is a recent University of Massachusetts Isenberg MBA graduate.

Prior to her graduate studies, de Almeida was the fiscal manager for the Center for New Americans, the business manager for the Brick House Community Resource Center, and the staff accountant for the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center. Her experience includes budgeting, compliance, financial reporting, expense tracking, tax filing and audit preparation. de Almeida lives in Northampton with her wife and their 5-month-old daughter.

Founded in 1991, the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts seeks to enrich the quality of life for the people of our region. With assets totaling $163 million, CFWM serves the three counties bordering the Connecticut River in western Massachusetts (Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties) by serving as a resource, catalyst and coordinator for charitable activities.
