The Foundation’s partnership with the Hampden County Bar Association connects you with a lawyer for free legal advice through the “Lawyer for a Day” program. Volunteer attorneys provide brief out-of-court legal advice on structural issues, such as:
- Obtaining a 501(c) tax exemption letter or getting your status reinstated
- Reviewing the requirements to register an organization
- Creating a successful governance structure
- Understanding the liability of directors and officers
- Exploring the tax implications of grants
After you register, you will be referred to an attorney who can connect with you virtually. You will also have an opportunity to connect with an attorney at an upcoming clinic.
