Donors Rules
Donor participation: Any individual may donate.

A unique donor is considered an individual. Donations made by the same individual but with a different email address, credit card, address, etc. will be considered to be made by the same donor. Donations made on behalf of another individual will not be counted as a unique donor.

Donations made through Valley Gives are received by K-Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, affiliated with the Kimbia giving platform, and then granted to the designed organization. Donations designated to eligible participating organizations are 100% tax-deductible and irrevocable. Donations will not be refunded. Donations via the website may only be made via credit or debit card.

Minimum donation: The minimum donation is $10.00. There is no maximum donation.

This is a 24-hour giving event, so donations must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 2, 2017 to count toward totals that determine prizes. A donor may apply for a matching donation from their employer if eligible, but only gifts made on Valley Gives Day via the Valley Gives website will count towards leaderboard totals.

Challenge matching grants to an organization do not need to be made via Kimbia. If a matching challenge grant is made via Kimbia that amount will be included in the organization’s totals for Valley Gives Day. Challenge matches will have their activation begin on May 2 this will focus the giving on Valley Gives Day. To be eligible for the matching prize, an organization can establish a match of up to any amount between $2,500 and $5,000. Organizations that match the amount will be entered into a pool for a prize.


Organization Rules

To participate, one of the following conditions must be true:

  1. an eligible organization must have its primary office located in Hampden, Hampshire or Franklin counties of Massachusetts AND serve a population in at least one of these counties
  2. an eligible organization can have its primary office located outside of the Pioneer Valley but actively be serving a population of people in at least one of the three counties.

Only IRS registered 501(c)3 organizations, groups that are fiscally sponsored, or organizations that are recognized as charitable by the IRS are eligible to participate in Valley Gives (an eligible organization must be legally able to receive prize grants from the Community Foundation).
