Proposals are considered for funding from private foundation funds and other discretionary funds held at the Community Foundation. As part of this process the Community Foundation also makes recommendations on behalf of Bank of America for several trusts. We utilize the expertise of community volunteers to create policy, review grant requests, and ultimately determine grant decisions.
Organizations interested in applying for funding must submit a complete grant application package. While there are commonalities between the Mission Grants programs there are distinctions as well:

  • Review application guidelines.  Organizations new to our grantmaking program should attend a free Grant Training Session.
  • Review application guidelines.
  • On-line application process.
  • On-line application process which will be open during two time frames in 2016.
  • Applications that are considered complete and meet the guidelines should expect a face-to-face review with a Community Foundation volunteer.
  • A CFWM staff member or volunteer may follow-up on submitted application with a phone call or email, if necessary.  Face-to-face review sessions may occur in limited circumstances.
  • Organizations can expect a decision on their 2016 grant submission in late October/early November..
  • Organizations can expect a decision on their grant submission 6-8 weeks from the time the request is submitted.
