Position Available: Development Communications Manager

The Development Communications Manager reports to the Directors of Development and will assist in the planning and implementation of communications and events to enhance awareness of the Foundation among the philanthropic community and professional advisors in the region.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Working with Development/Marketing team, provide project management and copywriting support for all print publications, including annual report, brochures, and presentations.

Lead event planning for the annual meeting, working with Donor Relations Coordinator and Development Directors on program creation, production of multi-media presentation, and other aspects of the meeting. Coordinate all other events for donors and advisors.

Oversight of other brand-related media and marketing communications projects as assigned, such as the website.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Superior communication and writing skills, preferably with experience in nonprofit development.
  • Experience writing and producing major print publications.
  • Experience producing events and conferences, preferably for nonprofits.
  • Experience working collaboratively, creatively.
  • Proven experience working with creative vendors such as designers, photographers, writers.
  • Ability to translate strategic vision to logistical realities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive relationships and be an effective team player with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Desire and proven ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
    Relentless attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Project management expertise with experience managing multiple projects on time, on budget.
  • Knowledge of charitable giving and professional advisor community preferred.
  • Available for limited evening and weekend work.

Education and Experience:

  • BA or advanced degree required.
  • At least 3-5 years experience in marketing, event management, or related field.

A competitive compensation package will be commensurate with background and schedule.

Flexible Schedule Negotiable, including part time.
